Facebook Beta update for Windows Phone brings new Live Tiles, push chat, and more

by Anton D. Nagy on November 28, 2013 2:49 AM

Microsoft is constantly trying to improve its official Facebook application, which is lacking behind clients for iOS and Android. The Beta version of the application is the first one to get features which later are ported and made available in the official Facebook app. The Beta, however, has reached version 5.2, and brings a lot of new things to the table, to get excited about.

First and foremost, there are new, redesigned, Live Tiles, which Joe Belfiore calls “our best live tiles yet”. There are also┬ásecondary tiles for chat, events, groups, pages, and photo albums, as well as toast notifications for Facebook Chat, alongside Messaging improvements. And, if that’s not enough, you’ll also see faster and more reliable notifications, performance improvements, as well as additional languages for the app itself. Grab the Beta from the source link below or wait for all these features to make it to your “regular” Facebook app.
