Franco Kernel Reduces Lag and Increases Battery Life (Video)
I love my Nexus 7. It’s one of the best tablets on the market for the money. Recently, Google updated it to Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean and brought with it irritating lag! That lag presents itself at the worst times. Another issue I wanted to address was battery life. Although the battery on the Nexus 7 isn’t small, in my use I needed another hour or two of use.
Investigating solutions that would address both lag and battery life, some of our readers recommended Franco Kernel, a replacement kernel, kernel updater, and settings control panel all-in-one. It won’t work with every device, but if you’ve got one of the following, it’s worth every penny!
The app will run right around US$5 from the Play Store, and once installed it needs a little setup. Hit play and I’ll show you what you need to do.
If you do want to make changes, you can do everything from setting the CPU and GPU speeds, adjusting the governor settings, tweaking Wi-Fi and display settings, and more. I’ll show you a couple that I’ve set up in the video, but again, these are all optional, you don’t have to apply any of them for Franco Kernel to work its magic.
Do you have experience with Franco Kernel? If so we’d love to hear your success stories in the comments below!
