Unreal Engine 3′s Epic Citadel Reaches Android, iOS Version Updated

by Jaime Rivera on

Three years after we were all wowed at all that Epic Citadel proved the iPhone 4 could do, Epic Games has just brought the same Unreal Engine 3 technology to Android. In a nutshell this is pretty much the same version we’ve seen for iOS ever since it was launched, but it offers the kick of providing benchmarking as well.

With this new version you can test frame rates, quality settings, and resolution details. Now even though the iOS version was recently updated as well to support higher resolutions, the benchmarking seems to be an Android exclusive. I’m sure Epic Games understands just how important speeds are in an Android user’s mindset.

The Unreal Engine 3 is not new to Android devices, and even though Epic Citadel is really just a demo that won’t allow you to really play with or against anything, it’s prof that Epic Games has taken the time to really test their work across as many devices as Android can offer. Now since Android is always hard to predict, be sure to share in the comments if the download on the Google Play Store or Amazon App Store works for you or not.
