Does This Nokia WP8 Render Seem A Little Odd-Looking?

There have been a number of designs we’ve seen floated as potentials for Nokia’s upcoming Windows Phone 8 lineup. Some seem very much confirmed by leaked hardware pics, while others have clearly been just imaginative stabs at phone design concepts. The latest to land on our doorstep definitely has similarities to what we’ve already seen, but could it actually depict real hardware?

Supposedly, this is the Nokia Arrow, the model that showed up in a blurrycam pic yesterday. Unlike that image, though, these have the phone’s camera and flash elements mounted horizontally when in portrait view, rather than vertically.

According to users who have participated in Nokia market research, this is one design that they’ve seen before. Could this be an earlier prototype layout, then? The renders themselves look a little wrong – “cheap”, if you will – especially when it comes to the lighting highlights. They also all appear a bit thick, though it’s tricky to get a proper sense of scale from this vantage.

If you had a choice, would you go with this design, or the one from yesterday’s leak (below)?
