Jelly Bean Update Leaks For T-Mobile Galaxy S III
We’re expecting Samsung to start releasing official Jelly Bean updates for the various Galaxy S III models shortly after its upcoming Unpacked event next week. So far, we’ve seen a couple early leaks of the update as it will arrive for the quad-core international Galaxy S III. Now, it’s time for one of the US editions of the handset to take its turn, upon the leak of a similar update for T-Mobile’s GS3.
This build, JRO03L, is nearly complete but there are still a few small issues. Users report an inability to make WiFi-based calls through T-Mobile’s service, but that’s probably due to the fact that this file comes from Samsung, rather than the carrier itself.
Still, if you want an early preview of what to expect, the update is here now and ready to install. You’ll need to make sure you’re running stock T999UVALH2 before proceeding, but it’s otherwise a straightforward operation. On the other hand, it should only be a matter of weeks before we see the final update start going out OTA, so perhaps patience would be your best option, especially if you’re feeling unsure about installing a leaked update.
