New Windows Phone 8 Samsung Models Details Rumored
We got our first real idea of what to expect from Samsung and Windows Phone 8 when a couple names and a little bit of hardware info leaked out at the end of last month. We learned about the devices codenamed Marco and Odyssey, a pair of Snapdragon S4-powered handsets with LTE connectivity. The Odyssey appeared to be the higher-end of the pair, with a 4.65-inch HD screen, while the Marco should arrive with a WVGA 4-incher. We’re still waiting to get a look at these babies, but in the meantime, a little more info on the two has arrived, courtesy of a new rumor.
This new information attempts to confirm many of the hardware details we already had, while adding some new ones. For instance, it mentions that the Odyssey will be available in both 16GB and 32GB editions, while the lower-end Marco will only have an 8GB option. Even that’s not too bad, though, as both phones will support microSD expansion, thanks to Windows Phone 8′s much-improved microSD handling.
We also get some rumored model numbers, with the Marco going by GT-I8370 and the Odyssey GT-I8750. We’ve already heard some speculation that the Odyssey might be coming to T-Mobile as the SGH-T899; this doesn’t negate that, as we’d likely need to see a version with a different radio released to support T-Mobile’s AWS band.
As for pricing, this info suggests that the Marco will arrive for what works out to somewhere in the $430-490 range off-contract, while the Odyssey would fall between $615-740.
