Sure enough, Samsung has lived up to expectations for its press event scheduled for today, revealing the Galaxy Note 10.1, with all its upgraded hardware, as it will arrive in the US later this month.

Samsung announced details of the tablet’s global launch in a statement last week, which it expands upon today. Now we learn that the US will get its hands on the tablet tomorrow, on August 16, when it will sell for about $500 for the 16GB version and $550 for 32GB. We’re still waiting for more info on that pricing, as there are supposed to be both WiFi-only and HSPA+ editions of the tablet coming out now, with an LTE one scheduled for later in the year.

Like the Galaxy S III, the Note 10.1 now runs an Exynos 4 Quad (the same SoC we’re hoping to see in the Galaxy Note 2) and has memory to spare with its 2GB of RAM. The tablet features a five-megapixel main camera, 1.9-megapixel front-facer, and its 10.1-inch display arrives in a WXGA resolution.
