There’s no denying that Samsung wrote the book on how to build a speedy processor. Still today, the dual-core Samsung Galaxy S II is one of the fastest smartphones in the world, and don’t let me start talking about the Galaxy S III.

We’ve known that Samsung has been working on a new Exynos variant since late last year. Current generation processors are based on the Cortex A9 architecture while the new Exynos Dual 5 will be based on the Cortex A15, so don’t let the step back to dual-core worry you. Now, what makes this processor even more special is its support for the new Mali-T604 GPU. Together, they’ll allow mobile devices to support amazing 2560×1600 WQXGA screen resolutions, Wi-Fi external display support, USB 3.0, and the faster LPDDR3 RAM 800MHz RAM. There’s also 30% less power consumption thanks to Samsung’s 32nm HKMG (High K Metal Gate) manufacturing process.

The cake toping though is the fact that there’s already a Samsung Whitepaper boasting all the features. I know it’s wishful thinking to expect that we’ll find any device running this new Ferrari engine this year, but we all wish dreams came true, and if there’s one thing I must admit I love about Samsung, is how bold they are at pushing their innovation.
