Google Mobile Search Now Supports Direct Answers To Common Queries
Even if it’s a split second, I’ll admit I love how Google immediately adapts the results query of anything I type in the desktop browser. That being the case, aside from providing Jelly Bean users with services like Google Now, mobile search is now being enhanced with a couple of really cool features.
For example, with typical search, every time you searched for the weather, all you got were links to places where you could get the weather, or recently, you got a card with the information. Mobile Search now provides a very neat user interface with large text and interactive cards that allow you to get more information without having to refine your search query. The topics to currently fit within “common queries” are flight information and updates, weather, stock prices, currency conversion, unit conversion, sunrise and sunset times, holidays, and dictionary definitions.
The service is currently rolling out to those searching on Google.com in English on either smartphones or tablets, but sadly it seems it’s currently limited to just certain devices since it works fine on my Jelly Bean devices, but I get the same old links when I try the same on any Ice Cream Sandwich devices. I guess you can’t win them all each time, but they’ll most likely roll out soon to everyone.
