Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE Release Date Rumored
Last month, Motorola announced the forthcoming arrival of its Photon Q 4G LTE Android for Sprint. The news of the model itself was a bit overshadowed by the revelation that Motorola would use the phone’s launch to finally implement its long-promised bootloader unlocking program, but it sounded like a very decent upper-mid-range offering, and one that’s even more attractive if you’re into hardware keyboards. At the time, we didn’t get any details on just how the phone would arrive, short of it happening sometime in August. We’re still waiting for official word, but a new rumor suggests the Photon Q 4G might make its retail debut on August 19.
It’s unclear just where this information comes from, but PhoneDog reports hearing from a source that the Photon Q 4G will arrive that Sunday. The site’s relied on info from Sprint’s retail workers in the past, most recently reporting on the start of employee training on the Photon Q 4G, so that’s likely where this information is coming from, too.
Even if this launch date turns out being accurate, we’re still in the dark as to the Android’s price. Common sense would put the phone in the $150-to-$200 range on-contract, but Sprint could always surprise us.
