Leaked Nexus 7 Accessories Reveal Interesting Case Designs
Official accessories for Google’s ASUS-made Nexus 7 tablet are still waiting to launch, but as we anticipate their arrival, details on a bunch have started leaking out. Info on a new group of these add-ons arrives today, including quite a few cases, and one with a bit of an unusual design, at that.
The folio case is nothing too surprising – just a simple book-style fold-over design – but it does feature support for the Nexus 7′s magnetic sensors to automatically detect when the case is closed. The Bluetooth keyboard case is a little more interesting, as it not only gives you a full QWERTY keyboard to make text entry a whole lot more convenient, but includes an integrated stand. There’s also a similar model, with the same landscape-orientation stand, but lacking the keyboard.
The really neat case has a dual-mode stand, allowing you to prop the tablet up in either landscape or portrait modes, switching between them with a quick twist. That should help make the Nexus 7 as convenient for use watching movies as it would be displaying a recipe while you bake.
There’s no word on just when these cases, and all the other Nexus 7 accessories, may become available, but we’d imagine Google and ASUS are interested in seeing them hit retail soon.
