nanoSIMs Allegedly Confirmed for iPhone 5

To quickly refresh your memory, Financial Times recently reported that European carriers were allegedly stocking up on nanoSIM cards, which are 40% smaller than microSIMs, in anticipation of Apple’s next smartphone, believed to be called the iPhone 5.

According to BGR’s unnamed sources, unnamed carriers (except for AT&T which is specifically mentioned) are testing nanoSIMs in real-life thanks to nanoSIM adaptors reportedly sent out by Apple. The tests are meant to iron out any glitches and make sure everything is working smoothly “before they are widely deployed when the new iPhone is introduced”. For the moment neither Apple nor AT&T have commented on the matter.
