Google Nexus 7 Tablet Pre-Orders Are Early Indicators of Success

You don’t necessarily have to be an Android fan to know about Google’s Nexus 7 tablet, the $200 Jelly Bean-powered Nexus slate unveiled by the company at this year’s Google I/O. It packs a quad-core Tegra 3 CPU with 1GB of RAM, front-facing camera and battery for 9 hours of HD video playback.

According to Hugo Barra, Director of Product Management for Android, the pre-orders are going very well and Google has every reason to be excited. While he didn’t mention any specific numbers, he did say, with a “knowing smirk”, that “it’s big!”

Of course, one would immediately wonder whether this is real or just a marketing catch to take the buzz to the next level. We have no doubt that the Nexus 7 will be a popular tablet considering the great price-point, features packed inside, as well as it being an exponent of the already well-established Google Nexus family.
