ASUS Teases Dual-Boot Android/Windows 8 Tablet

Hackers are no strangers to coaxing devices into running non-native operating systems; whether that’s Android on webOS gear or… well, basically anything on the HTC HD2, we’ve seen feats like that pulled off time and time again. What’s a rarity, though, is learning of a mobile device where the manufacturer has intentionally released it with multiple platform support in mind. If you like to keep your options open, you’ll want to check out the new tablet ASUS has been teasing for Computex, which looks like it could support both Android and Windows 8.

The teaser videos ASUS has released are super-vague, but there’s no denying that it’s talking about something that’s a little bit Android and a little bit Windows. As of now, we’re at a loss for specifics of the hardware that would make up this presumed tablet, but we hope to learn exactly what ASUS has in mind shortly, with the company likely to reveal the device early next week.

The idea of a tablet with dual operating systems sounds very cool, but if you had one, do you think you’d take full advantage of both sides? Perhaps if you were unfamiliar with both platforms you’d take the time to explore a little, but do you think your long-term usage would end up leaning far more in favor of one side over the other?
