New Quad-Core LG LS970 “Eclipse 4G LTE” Pic Surfaces
After hearing earlier this month about LG’s plans for bringing 2GB of RAM to Android smartphones with the release of its Optimus LTE2, we got word last week of what could be another-such 2GB handset, the LG LS970 “Eclipse 4G LTE”. Even more so than the LTE2, the Eclipse sounds like it could be a real powerhouse, with a quad-core Snapdragon S4 at its heart. At the time, we got a quick look at what was supposed to be the phone’s rear cover, and today even more imagery of the Eclipse emerges, giving us a peak under the hood.
If you had any doubt that the phone’s battery might not be removable, worry not, for it looks to be readily accessible. We can also see what appears to be an NFC antenna, suggesting the handset will arrive with support for the feature (carrier dependent, no doubt). The photo’s a little too low-resolution to make out much detail on the phone’s battery, but leaked specs indicate it to be a 2100 mAh component.
This appears to be the very same Eclipse we saw last week, with the same hole carved in its rear cover to expose access to a connector for an external antenna.
