Pantech P8010 Hits FCC With AT&T LTE On-Board
Back in March, an unknown Pantech Android showed-up in some benchmark data. The phone appeared to run a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 and showed signs it would arrive one day for service on AT&T. Today that same model P8010 makes its return, upon the FCC publication of the phone’s certification paperwork.
Sure enough, the P8010 is packing all the bands it will need for operation on AT&T. Interestingly, besides the standard LTE bands we’ve seen the carrier use so far on phones such as Pantech’s own Burst, this time there’s additional support for LTE on the 850 and 1900MHz bands the carrier uses for the rest of its cellular services. It’s not clear if that signals AT&T’s intent to phase-out existing operation on any of those frequencies and reallocate them for increased LTE bandwidth, or if this a sign of Pantech readying the P8010 for operation on other carriers in other nations.
Those old benchmark results suggest that the P8010 will arrive with a qHD display, but we’re still in the dark as to just what size we might be dealing with, as well as the majority of the phone’s remaining specs.
